Anthony Gose Completes Great Catch vs. Yankees Despite Crashing into Wall

With one out in the top of the sixth inning Monday night, Toronto Blue Jays right fielder Anthony Gose looked to track down a pop fly from Yankees shortstop Brendan Ryan and prevent a double or triple.

Not only did Gose successfully track down the ball, he completed the catch despite colliding hard into the outfield wall.

Grady Sizemore may be in his 10th MLB season, but he’s looking in fine form. The two-time Gold Glove winner made two impressive catches in the Boston Red Sox’s spring training matchup against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Cleveland Indians’ Jason Kipnis Has Gnarly Bruise from Getting Hit by Pitch

Cleveland Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis got hit by a pitch from Kansas City Royals right-hander Jeremy Guthrie during Thursday’s spring training matchup in Arizona. Can you locate the spot where Kipnis got hit?

CC Sabathia Looks Shockingly Thin After Turning Fat into Muscle

New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia has long held an image as one of the rounder players in Major League Baseball. That appears to have changed, as Sabathia’s wife Amber posted a photo of the ace lefty at a wedding over the weekend looking positively slim.

He denies that he has lost weight, instead saying that an offseason of intense training has helped bring tone to his physique. Per Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports (h/t Mike Axisa of CBS Sports), Sabathia says: 

I’m actually the same weight as I was last year, just a little more toned and a lot more strong. This is the first offseason I was able to weight-train and get stronger and not worry about weight loss.

‘Jeopardy!’ Question Pokes Fun at the Houston Astros

The Houston Astros have been so bad in recent years that even the hit television show Jeopardy! is taking shots at the franchise.

In the last three seasons, the team has failed to acquire 57 wins even once. In 2013, they finished with a record of 51-111.

The question that should precede the sardonic answer is, “What is a blowout preventer?”

Boston Red Sox Thank St. Louis and Cardinals Fanbase with Newspaper Ad

The Boston Red Sox organization took out an ad Tuesday in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch to thank the Cardinals organization and their fanbase for the “warm Midwestern welcome” they extended to the Red Sox organization through the duration of the 2013 Fall Classic.

The Red Sox defeated the Cardinals, 6-1, on Oct. 30 to clinch the World Series 4-2. They won two of three games in St. Louis’ Busch Stadium.
