The 10 MLB Feats We Will Never See Again

Throughout each and every MLB season, the discussion always seems to arise over the next great feat to be achieved by a single player.

These feats are also—more often than not—indelible marks in the record books that sometimes seem unbreakable.

But within the mix of these conversations are also discussions about giant feats in baseball that will NEVER happen again, and I put together a top 10 list highlighting some of these feats.

I realize in sports that anything is possible, and you may find one or two here that almost happened, but most of you should agree that this list is basically a collection of feats that we will never see again.

2010 MLB Draft: Ranking 10 of the Most Valuable Prospects

The 2010 MLB Draft is just around the corner and so ushers in another year of promising new talent, and rising stars that, one day, could become the next household name or MLB great.

Admittedly, this year’s draft in regard to the High School Pool is a bit shallow, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t a school of player waiting to show everyone what they got.

I put together a small list of players whom I feel hold a ton of value in addition to their natural abilities. Will Player X who is hitting over .300 fall to the 10th round, and become a steal? Will a promising young High School pitcher already tooled with three pitches become the next Tim Lincecum?

It will take some time to see, but for now, let’s take a look at who I got and when you’re finished leave a comment below, and let us know who YOU think is one of the most valuable prospects in the draft.

Impact Players: MLB’s Top 10 Impact Rookies of the Past 25 Years

We can all agree that the impact of rookies in any given sport is sometimes more crucial than that of their veteran counterparts. In some cases, those impact rookies wind up being heroes and godsents for a team, giving a much needed boost of fresh air and talent, while other times, they start hot before fizzling out.

Today, while we await the arrival of one of the biggest impact rookies in recent years (Steven Strasburg) to show us what he’s got, we are already enjoying the contributions of players such as Starlin Castro, and Buster Posey.

And so continues another season with a nother crop of wonderful talent.

So let us take a look at whom I think are the 10 biggest impact rookies in the past 25 years. A debatable topic I am sure, but hopefully an enjoyable read for you!

These players don’t have to win ROY, or a World Series, but rather, simply show themselves to have provided an indelible impact on their team in their debut.

I hope you all enjoy, and don’t forget to add your own selection.

No Tasers Here! Five Positive MLB ‘Fans on the Field’ Moments

The intrepid fan racing across the field as the chubby stadium security guy tries vehemently to run him down is an indelible image that nearly every baseball fan can attest too. And while most of these instances are minor and innocent they can, at times, turn ugly as in the recent taser incident at a Philadelphia Phillies game.

But that is for another article.

I tried to find a few memorable moments in MLB history where the fans raced the field in a positive manner, rather than negative. I have excluded postseason celebrations because that is technically a different subject. So please enjoy this short slide, and feel free to add your own story.

Five Reasons Why You Should Own Cincinnati Reds’ Mike Leake Now

A couple of weeks ago if you mentioned the name Aroldis Chapman, in any common fantasy circle, there probably would’ve have been a distinct buzz. In the same vein, if you mentioned the name Mike Leake, there were probably nothing more than those uncomfortable crickets’ sounds filling the blank air.
Well, move over Chapman because Cincy is “leaking”, and your turns may have to wait a little longer.

Mike Leake has not only been a pleasant surprise for the Reds and fantasy owners, but he is proving to be one of the biggest successful risks of the 2010 season.

Today I want to take look at five reasons why you should grab Leake now, for the interim as well as the long-term before he is completely snatched up, leaving you and your roster in the rear view mirror.

The 10 Most Unlikely Playoff Teams in MLB History

The postseason in MLB provides us with multiple hair raising situations that are as indelible on the mind as our childhood memories. Situations such as the unexpected sweep, a nail biting Game Seven, and the unthinkable rally, are all a big part of nearly every postseason game in MLB history. But rarely do we remember the stories of those unexpected teams who made it to the playoffs.

I tried to cover at least one team from every decade as far back to the 1950’s, and while there is only room for ten, I will say there are plenty more teams in MLB history that did the unthinkable, so please feel free to leave your choice at the end of this show, and I hope you enjoy.
