MLB Power Rankings: The Most Colorful Personality in Each Team’s History

Each sport has those types of players and personalities whose quirks and oddities just add to their overall lure.

But perhaps no sport embraces it more than baseball, which in it of itself is a game of quirks and oddities. It should only be fitting then that some of the players and people around the game were and are the same way.

So with that in mind and the season now underway for all 30 teams, now is as good a time as ever to take a look at some of the more colorful personalities ever to be associated with each major league team. Some of them were players, some were managers, some were even owners. But they all brought their own quirks that left a mark on the game.

Without further ado, here’s the most colorful personality for each MLB team.

Best Facial Hair in MLB History

Let’s face it (no pun intended), facial hair has always been a part of sports.

But perhaps no sport (other than hockey’s playoff beards) has embraced the hairy visage more than the Great American Pastime, where it’s become more than just facial hair: it’s an identifying trademark.

Be honest, when you think of Rollie Fingers, Dennis Eckersley and Brian Wilson, what do you think of? You probably think of their accolades and escapades on the field, but you also think of the handlebar (Fingers), the thick mustache/mullet combo (Eckersley) and the beard that’s probably the definition of “winning” (Wilson).

So with the MLB season now underway, it’s time to take a look at some of the best facial hair in MLB history. This is the place for some of the most bizarre, out of left field and just epic looks and designs we’ve ever seen.

Without further ado, here’s the list.

MLB Trade Rumors: Francisco Liriano, Michael Young and the Latest Trade Updates

Well, we’ve now officially crossed into March, which means we’re not that far away from Opening Day. The Grapefruit and Cactus Leagues are now well under way and as we get closer to the regular season, the baseball trade rumors will just continue to heat up.

Hey, it’s only a few more months until July 31.

Already, there are a couple of names that have garnered attention in the trade market. Obviously the Brewers and Prince Fielder will be a team to watch all season. If the Brewers fall out of the race in the NL Central, the heat on the Brewers to possibly move Fielder will be even greater than it already is.

Then there’s the situation between the Rangers and Michael Young and whether Texas will buckle and give Young his trade out of town. The Yankees, meanwhile, in their desperate search for pitching, are now keeping an eye on Francisco Liriano, according to reports.

And then there’s Felix Hernandez. King Felix is the best pitcher on a Mariners team expected to struggle once again this season, and one has to wonder if it’ll get to the point where Seattle starts to think about trading him.

All this and more are just some of the rumors we’ll address today as spring training rolls on. So keep reading for all the latest news and rumors.

MLB Rumors: Joey Votto, Carl Pavano and the Latest MLB Buzz

MLB Trade Rumors are still keeping the hot stove hot even as many teams have started to finalize their rosters and started to prepare for next month.

Yes, it’s almost that time again. We’re now officially less than a month from February 14, when pitchers and catchers will report to baseball outposts around Florida and Arizona. Of course, that doesn’t mean business won’t get done between now and then.

The biggest free-agent remaining is finally off the board as Rafael Soriano decided to go to the Yankees, which doesn’t leave many options left except for teams looking for late-January bargains. While some teams are still looking outside, others are looking to lock up their young stars. That includes Joey Votto, who now looks like he’ll be staying in Cincinnati.

Here’s the latest on Votto and other free agent buzz.

The 10 biggest MLB Hall of Fame voting surprises in MLB history is the task at hand as we get ready to dive into the Great Cooperstown Debate (corny rhyme not intended).

It’s one of the greatest debates in sports, the Hall of Fame. Who deserves to be in and who shouldn’t be in. And baseball is no exception, where there always seems to be debates about who should be in and who shouldn’t be in the Hall.

There are definitely players who should be in the Hall who aren’t, and there are those who are in that probably shouldn’t be. Here are the ten biggest voting surprises in MLB history.

MLB Trade Rumors: Power Ranking the Top 50 Potential Trade Options

A national hockey writer in Canada said something recently that made me think about MLB Trade Rumors. I don’t remember the exact quote, but it was something to the effect of: “If Wayne Gretzky could get traded, anyone can get traded.”

Just replace Gretzky with Babe Ruth, and it works.

The biggest name in this offseason’s trade rumors, Zack Greinke, has a new home in Milwaukee. But there are still some other names being thrown around who could possibly have new homes and have them relatively soon. Here are 50 of them.
