Almost 14 years to the day that National Baseball Hall of Famer Randy Johnson destroyed a bird with one of his signature fastballs, another bird has been obliterated during an MLB spring training game.
This time, Detroit Tigers rookie catcher James McCann is the culprit.
In footage of a Friday afternoon Tigers-Braves exhibition game provided by Detroit new station WDIV Local 4, McCann launches a foul ball backward, but the ball crosses paths with an unfortunate creature resting atop the netting.
Quite the unexpected result.
