According to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com , Mets pitcher Kelvim Escobar is expected to have surgery tomorrow to repair a torn capsule in front of his right shoulder, meaning he is out for the entire season.
This likely signals the end of Escobar’s nonexistent Mets career.
He was considered a pretty significant injury risk when the Mets signed him to a one-year, $1.25 million deal this offseason, and it looks like that money has completely gone to waste. Escobar has only pitched in one game, a five-inning performance last season, since 2007.
