Gosh. I actually have not been in my cozy little home this weekend. I have been on vacation in the interesting state of New Jersey. I saw Thursday’s game. I didn’t see Friday’s or Saturday’s. I didn’t expect to see any of today’s game, but it turns out I got to. I come into the hotel room and the first thing I see is David Wright limping around.
I come to find out Pat Burrell , the Mets killer, nailed him in the knee. I then got to stay to watch the end of Johan Santana ’s day. I got to see him put down Burrell with a strikeout looking, the Met killer. I left confident.
Gosh, how Francisco Rodriguez can blow it. He had a 3-1 lead going into the ninth, I thought he had it in the book. I forgot I was talking about K-Rod. Giants tied it. And K-Rod got his fifth blown save of the year, and a win.
The Mets offense got four runs for the second straight game. This time around it was enough to get a win. Ike Davis had two big run scoring doubles in the seventh and the 10th, as did Angel Pagan . Wright hit a home run, his 15th.
W-Francisco Rodriguez (3-2)
L-Brian Wilson (2-1)
I mentioned the Mets would pull out all the stops to win, and they did.
