The New York Mets saw their 2015 season end in heartbreaking fashion with a 7-2 extra-innings loss in Game 5 of the World Series on Sunday night, but even in defeat, the club showed a lot of class.
After taking some time to process things in the clubhouse, the Mets returned to the field to thank fans for their support throughout the season. Just a great show of respect by the team.
The Mets knew entering Game 5 that it would be their last home game of the year, regardless of the result. It just wasn’t the way they wanted to go out. However, they didn’t let that stop them from returning the love to the Citi Field crowd.
