Brandon Phillips loves messing with fans, so when the Cincinnati Reds are in an opponent’s ballpark, he steps up his game.

The Reds visited PNC Park to take on the Pittsburgh Pirates in a three-game series this week. Throughout Thursday’s afternoon game, one fan was reportedly heckling Reds first baseman Joey Votto.

After a rain delay later in the game, the heckler turned his attention to Phillips, according to Reddit:

Rain delay in the 7th inning, but afterwards, he got started on Brandon Phillips. Yelling “Hey everybody, look how slow Phillips is!”. My brother said the stadium was almost empty at this point, so his heckles rang loud and clear. According to him, Phillips even looked over and chuckled at one point.

This Pirates fan had no chance of rattling someone who loves the spotlight the way the Reds second baseman does.

After the game, Phillips gave the heckler a baseball with the following message on it:

Dear Drunk Guy, Thank You 4 All The Love & Support!! Now Take This Ball And Shut The Phuck Up!! 🙂

From Yours Truly,
Brandon Phillips

Don’t worry, Dat Dude  signed the baseball:

Phillips was a good sport about the whole thing and even took a selfie with the heckler:
