MLB Idiot of the Week

Idiots continue to abound.

The MLB season is ready to come to a brief respite at the All-Star break, but we know full well that dunderheadedness will never subside.

Welcome back to another rousing installment of “MLB Idiot of the Week,” where we select two players, managers or baseball personalities and call them out for their knuckleheaded ways.

Join MLB Lead Writer Zachary Rymer and MLB Contributor Gabe Zaldivar as they breakdown some egregious gaffes from the land of baseball.

Of course, we are here to merely nominate a couple of dumdums. The important part lies in your hands. Drop down a name in the comments section for the person you would like crowned idiot of the week. Yes, you can of course include the co-hosts as well. As we well know, they are some of your favorite nominees.

MLB Idiots of the Week

No amount of idiocy will go unturned.

Welcome to the weekly installment of “MLB Idiot of the Week”, where the biggest dum-dums of the week are presented for your consideration.

Voting is really quite simple: MLB Lead Writer Zachary Rymer and MLB Contributor Gabe Zaldivar will set up some easy pins in the form of knucklehead candidates, and you knock them on down.

Last week we took a long hard look at fans who still thought Yasiel Puig wasn’t deserving of an All-Star nod. This week, we do something similar, and perhaps sprinkle in a MLB general manager for good measure.

Of course, we are here to merely nominate a couple of idiots. The important part lies in your hands. Go ahead and throw a vote down for the bigger least valuable player of the week in the comments section below.

As you will see, they certainly deserve the recognition.

Biggest Surprises of the 2013 MLB Season So Far

The 2013 Major League Baseball season is into June now. We’ve had two whole months to come to grips with what’s happening around the league.

A lot of it makes perfect sense. Some of it, however, is still liable to make one scratch his or her head down to the bone.

A New York Yankees team that was supposed to be old and helpless being old and, well, not helpless?

The Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Angels, both offseason champions, not even close to becoming regular-season champions?

A longtime draft bust turning into the best closer in baseball?

B/R Pop Culture Lead Writer Gabe Zaldivar and I just didn’t see such things coming, and we got together recently to talk about it. As they usually are, our ramblings were caught on video.

Leave your comments below if you have any, and you’re also welcome to follow Gabe and I on Twitter.

But this is a conversation, and we need you to get in on the fun. Leave your suggestions and bright ideas in the comments section below.

MLB’s Most Intense In-Game Competitors

You will never see these guys taking it easy during a game. They are the rare few who give every last at-bat and pitch the intensity each deserves.

The game just wouldn’t be the same without them. Whether it’s going for an extra base when a single would be just fine or laying out for the miracle catch, they go the extra mile for their teammates.

The names on our list range from the top-tier superstar to the unheralded glue guy in the lineup. From Clayton Kershaw to Angel Pagan, we have you covered on the who’s who of fierce competitors.

Join MLB Lead Writer Zachary Rymer and MLB Contributor Gabe Zaldivar as they break down which players are renowned for stepping up their game to unbelievable levels.

Not that we talking heads have the last word on this subject. There are so many names that deserve recognition, which is where you and your fine suggestions come into play.

If only every baseball star would try this hard.

Debating If Mike Trout or Bryce Harper Will Have a Better 2013

Major League Baseball has a lot to look forward to with Mike Trout and Bryce Harper’s whole careers ahead of them, but who is going to have a better second chapter?

The Angels star largely overshadowed a fantastic campaign from the Nationals phenom, ending with a near MVP win over Miguel Cabrera.

Still, there is a ton to like about Harper who could very well usurp Trout in 2013 as the best young player in the game.

Join MLB Lead Writer Zachary Rymer and MLB Contributor Gabe Zaldivar as they break down the two brightest stars in the game. Just as the NBA had in Bird and Magic, MLB may soon see two of the most engaging athletes of this era.

Not that the debate ends with this video. This is an argument that will get played out in every pub and baseball field in the country. State your argument on who will have the better 2013 season in the comments section below.
