Colon, 42 years old, will look to give the Mets’ star-studded staff a boost this season and help the team get back to the World Series.

The Pittsburgh Pirates are going back to their roots in 2016.
On Thursday, the team announced it would wear throwback uniforms from 1979 for Sunday games.
The pillbox hat features three stripes, the jersey is a pullover V-neck and the pants are “beltless” with gold lining.

Back in 1979, the Pirates won the World Series. They haven’t won it since but are certainly hoping the new alternative uniforms will spark some throwback magic.

Many moons ago, San Francisco Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford was a fan of the team.
On Thursday, the team shot a commercial that featured the 29-year-old standing in the same spot (albeit in AT&T Park rather than Candlestick)—and wearing the same outfit—as his five-year-old self.
The Giants posted another shot of the recreated scene on Instagram:

It was about time someone made a song honoring Bryce Harper.
On Wednesday, rapper Wale did the honors. Always one to throw out sports references in his lyrics, the Washington, D.C., native included all types of baseball analogies in the three-minute song appropriately titled “MVP.”
The beat goes pretty hard, and Wale flows over it well. Here’s the chorus:

Josh Donaldson is winning.
After taking the Toronto Blue Jays to the American League Championship Series and winning the AL MVP, the 29-year-old will grace the cover of MLB 16: The Show.
As Greg Warren of theScore noted, this is “the first time a Toronto Blue Jays player has landed on the cover in the United States, although Jose Bautista, Russell Martin, and Brett Lawrie have graced the Canadian cover in the past.”

Blue Jays fans want David Price to stay in Toronto—badly.
So, to their credit, they’re doing something about it.
Head over to “Any Price for David” if you want to see just how passionately Jays fans want the lefty ace back. Here’s how it works: “If David Price stays in Toronto, I, [insert name], agree to [do something].”
Some are lighthearted, of course. Orissa Fletcher will buy Price some Dairy Queen. Peter LePiane will name his next kid “Price.” Dovejot Parmar will dance like Cam Newton after every strikeout.
And some are weird, which you can investigate yourself.
After reading those, Price might move as far away from Canada as possible.

Communication is key—especially when it comes to free tickets that aren’t really free.
While getting interviewed by a reporter about her beloved Toronto Blue Jays, this fan misheard the question, “So you’re getting tickets for the next round?” as a definitive statement.
The thing is, though, she wasn’t getting any tickets. It’s a shame all that enthusiasm will have to go to waste.
She’ll likely be hoping for a Blue Jays comeback, as Toronto is facing a 3-2 ALCS deficit heading into Friday’s Game 6 at Kauffman Stadium against the Kansas City Royals.
